So long, farewell…

As I mentioned about 5 seconds ago when I hit publish on my last post, last Thursday was Lily’s last day of preschool for the summer (K-3).  It was sort of anticlimactic since half of her class was missing for one reason or another, but I did snap a picture of her with her teachers:

That’s her teacher (Pamela Keeley) on the left and the aide (Jill Cook) on the right.  Lily’s clutching a sweet photo book they gave her with pictures from her school year, and when we got home, that spurred her to steal all of the photos I had JUST printed at Costco to make another book.  Classic Lily – she’s a picture hoarder.

After school almost every day for the past year, all of the kids go out onto the playground to blow off some steam, for the younger siblings to get a chance to play, and for the mommies to have time to catch up.  Five of the nine kids in her class are from our playgroup, so we all know each other well.  The last day I snapped some pictures of Lily with two of her playgroup/school friends, Lexie (left) and Ana (center).  Lately, Lily has decided I have to take a silly-faced picture for every plain smile picture I want.  It worked well for the girls, too, to get some sweet smiles and some crazy faces.

Smile!

They wanted one more “Sad.”

Happy yet Surprised?!

Okay, so the “silly” to “regular smile” ratio is a bit off, but at least they cooperated for some pictures.  We’re going to miss these playground playdates this summer!

Oh, good gravy! (and yes, that is the official curse phrase at my house these days – I’m proud that I’m no longer saying, “oh, shhhhhhhhhhh-ugar” when I feel aggravated, but also dismayed when I hear myself let out a hearty “good gravy!” when I’m all alone) I promised you I would try for really short posts, and I FAILED.  Fail, fail, fail.  Boo, me.
