Tidbits

To finish out my last two pictures from today’s batch, I think I have forgotten to tell you that Emma is way more cross-eyed than I remember Lily being.  It’s totally normal and will correct itself by 3 or 4 months, but we have SO many pictures like this.  Bless her heart.

Also, she ADORES the same blinky star (at the top of the play gym) just as much as Lily did.

I ’m pretty sure that if Blinky Star (that’s now a proper noun in our house) could be rigged up to dispense milk, my job would be in jeopardy.

When you’re strange…

Tonight, Lily was helping me cook.

We still don’t have our act together when it comes to meal-planning, so we’re fortunate to have a stuffed freezer that we’re trying to work our way through.  So what delectable treat did Lily enjoy while I was prepping dinner?

IMG_4364

I’ll tell you that it was something she took from the dish I was about to put in the microwave.

IMG_4355

Because it’s something you’d usually want to defrost AND heat up.

IMG_4360

What is it?  Well, it is one of Lily’s favorite foods – yellow rice.  We froze part of our leftovers last time we had it in individual portions that we can heat up whenever.  It’s especially convenient as a side dish since Lily doesn’t eat potatoes for some reason – no mashed, baked, fried, or anything.  Oh, I guess she’ll eat chips, but that’s it.  Speaking of strange, let’s get back to the fact that she was eating a frozen solid block of yellow rice.

Eventually her fingers got cold, so she tried eating it out of the dish.  Still frozen.

Strange child.

She then told us she was “going to freeze Annabelle’s snoozerboozle off with her frozen fingers.”

Yeah, that’s even stranger.

I guess one of these days I need to explain “snoozerboozle” to you folks…

I need a photo assistant…

Well, that and more natural light in my house, but I think I’ll just have to make do. Forgive the off-center photos (due to the lack of an assistant) and the soft focus (due to insufficient light), but the good news is that I finally captured some Emma smiles for you!

She has been so smiley the past two days!  As before, no other news is good news.  She is doing somewhat better with going back to sleep in the middle of the night, and has even gone up to almost 7 hours between feedings during the night once or twice.  Yay, Emma!
