Doctor, doctor…give me the news!

Lily went to the doctor for her 12 month well child check, and it went just fine.  Not much to report.  Lily weighs 20.5 pounds (40th percentile) and is 30.75 inches (80th percentile).  This was a relief because we had been a little concerned that she was eating too little since her appetite has really dropped off lately (around the time we switched to all finger foods), but it seems she is right on track.

Developmentally, she is of course doing beautifully.  She’s pretty much a full time walker now, and will choose to stand and walk even if she is already on the floor.  She tumbles many times a day, but gets steadier every day.  We’ve already covered how much she’s doing on the language front.  Socially, she has come so far from her earlier stranger anxiety, and is SO friendly when we’re out in public.  She tries to convince anyone and everyone to flirt with her, and usually succeeds.  She’ll make noises, cough, talk, point, smile, laugh, and try anything to get a stranger’s attention, and then will give them a HUGE grin.  She just loves an audience!  She wasn’t too keen on laying down on the table to be measured, but after she got over it, she started trying to get the doctor to smile at her, too.  A couple of shots, a finger prick, a lollipop, and then we were out the door!  We’ll see you again in 3 months, doc, but hopefully not before!
